February – Member of the Month

February Member of the Month is Austin Eckart! Austin has been with us for quite some time. He is consistently always getting better at CrossFit, and a guy our coaches loves to have in class. He is attentive, supportive and friendly to be around. He has recently been helping his wife remodel her new hair salon, but when he has time he loves throwing down with the boys. He always offers his help and has taken on many projects to help make CFL look and function the way it does. Austin is one of those people you feel lucky to have in your corner, and we are happy to highlight him during February!

When did you start CrossFit?
I started CrossFit around 2013.

What class do you frequent?
I frequent 10am and 330pm.

When is your birthday?
June 20, 1991.

If you could be a celebrity for a day, who would you be?
I would be Ben Franklin, don’t know if that qualifies?

What’s something you’re really good at, but sort of embarrassed that you are really good at it?
Computer strategy games? Not really embarrassed just sort of random I guess haha.

What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point?
KALE

What is your favorite cheat meal?
French toast or stuffed crust pizza

List your three best personality traits:
It’s weird listing stuff about yourselF. I would like to believe I’m a friendly person, would go out of my way to help anyone, and I love dogs lol.

List your three worst personality traits:
I get hangry, sometimes people take advantage of my kindness(so too kind?) and I suck at comical small talk.

What would be your favorite CrossFit workout?
DT.

What would be your least favorite CrossFit workout?
Probably Karen.

What does CFL mean to you?
CFL is family, hard work, and motivation. Its really changed my way of life and has made me a better person. It doesn’t matter what job you have, how big your social circle is or how much money you make. When you walk into CFL, all that shit drops dead right outside the door. Everyone sweats, bleeds and even sometimes shed tears over a common goal of becoming not just a fit person, but a better person then the one who walked in the hour before. Being surrounded by people who strive to not only become better in fitness but to become overall better people in life, that right there is what CFL is to me.
